Planterra Ridge gives and then takes back!

greg whatley

Greg Whatley of Stonemountain, GA was out of the gates running with a course record 29, 7-under par on the front nine at Planterra Ridge. However, the back nine proved to be a bit more of a challenge with the field averaging at least 2 shots harder than the front. The Stonemountain native had two penalty shots coming down the stretch which ultimately cost him the overall course record. The record is 63 posted by Johan Kok who is now playing on the European Challenge Tour. Greg finshed with a 36 on the back to take home the winner's check of $1,300.00. Not far from his heels was Matt Kilgo hailing from Charlotte, NC coming in at 68 earning him $650 and second place honors. Mr. consistancy, Adam Cooper of Columbus, GA finishing with a 69 warranted a 3rd place check of $400.
